Forest Fire

Forest Fire
Watercolor on Paper
15"x22"
First Place in Santa Clara Art Association (November 2009)

This was made with color pouring technique. I prepared different colors in a thick form, then I started pouring them in different places. With tilting the paper in different directions I started forming an interesting scene that looked like fire. This technique is so much fun exploring with colors.

Tia

Tia
Pastel on Sanded Paper
16"x22"

This was a great experience for me. It was a commission art piece. I designed a portrait of "Tia" that is unique, shows her beauty and emphasises her character. It was challenging for me in the beginning. I had to work on several sketches until the idea matured. I enjoyed painting it very much. It was quite an experience.

Street Market

On August 7th, 2009 I had a new experience getting in a street market. It was at south First street, downtown San Jose. I shared a booth with a friend of mine who does clay art. It was great interacting with people and knowing what they think about my art. It really helps a lot to hear the feedback.
I also got to do a demo on-site which attracted more people to our booth and we got to talk more about the art.

Red Bloom

Red Bloom
Oil Pastel on Paper
14" X 17"

This beautiful boquet on the tree was from a picure I took in Egypt maybe 6 years ago. I love the color of life there. usually I was using soft pastels, then I tried oil pastel on this painting and I loved the texture that it added.

After the Fireworks

After the Fireworks
Pastel on watercolor paper and watercolor base
15" x 22.5"

First I poured watercolors on the paper. The results came out nicely. I added pastels on top to enhance it. My 3 year old daughter when she saw it she called it fireworks so I decided to name it like that.
Later on January 6, 2010 this painting won the first place in Santa Clara Art Association. That was really encouraging after my long vacation during the holidays to get back quickly.

Now I take a Pastel class with the Artist Jeff Bramschreiber at the Triton Museum of Art. I learned a lot from him, more techniques and how to approach to a paiting. I started to see myself in Pastels.

Cheerful Flowers

Cheerful Flowers
Water Colors on Paper
11" x 14.5"

It was spring time in San Francisco when I fell in love with those flowers, so I took a picture of them. Then decided later to paint them with water colors to show how delicate they are.
I won the second place for this drawing at the Santa Clara Art Association (SCAA).
I showed this Piece in the AVA art fest at the Triton museum of Art in June 2005 and I sold it.

This Still Life Drawing was a remake of an old black and white Pencil drawing I made back in college. I photo copied the original drawing and redesigned it with adding new items and some colors to it.

Warm Life

Warm Life
Pastel on Paper
24" x 18"

This was a collage in the first place I made myself on a letter size paper. Then I made a 24" x 18" canvas of Pastel. Patels added a smooth warm feeling to it.
